The Los Angeles Tennis Open, also known as the Farmers Classic, and previously referred to as the Countrywide Classic, Los Angeles Tennis Open, Volvo Tennis L.A., Mercedes Benz Cup and different sponsors, is an ATP World Tour 250 series tennis tournament on the men's ATP Tour held in Los Angeles, California. The event has featured the high ranking men's players in the world ever since 1927. This tournament, with prize winnings of $700,000, is part of the series of tournaments incorporated in the Olympus US Open Series.
The one-week tournament goes through late July held on the Los Angeles Tennis Center at UCLA, which was constructed to host the 1984 Summer season Olympics. The present draw arrangement consists of a 28 player singles draw and sixteen doubles teams. Well-known past champions include Roy Emerson, Arthur Ashe, Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe, Pete Sampras, Michael Chang, Andre Agassi, Juan Martín del Potro and top 20-ranked American player Sam Querrey. Mike and Bob Bryan, in the doubles draw have been victorious by obtaining six titles.
